The Solitudes of Spring
by Blackbird (1994)

An outsider walked through the crowd of people,
invisible to those who moderately understood him,
and despised by those who did not understand him,
both pitied and rejected by friends,
trapped between night and day with divided loyalties,
the darkness forever beckoning him so soothingly,
the exile from society having been long and painful,

His heart and feelings are completely numb,
having once felt the bonds of love, but can love no longer,
realizing that only through the virtue of Love can he overcome the
darkness within him,
becoming lost in his self-pity and searching for an end to it,
betraying himself to the lies of the mind,
caged within the eternal paradox of suffering,

He looks to his family once again for an answer,
but they have no advice to partake for they have deserted him long ago,
so, exhausted, he retires to the company of an inhuman friend,
and the overbearing solitude of his fantasy world,

And awaits the dawning of his rebirth.
