CANTICLE OF MELYSSA

Sands of the Hourglass ~ Prelude

she has returned each Yuletide in the guise of autumn's maiden,
in the depth of longing she has held the title of dark princess,
kissed the confusing hands of a false gentleman,
her murmur of affections destined to profess,

she reminds those around her of a cherry blossom at the height of Fall,
she calms the waves of torment within,
she sings through the torrid winds with voice so tall,
she loves openly to embrace the sky without sin,

her healing touch; a sleigh of hand so small,
her mind spinning with the power of so much emotion buried in cold smooth skin,
her gift to the world uninhibited by the tearful wall,
her youthful spirit remains cherished a jewel to her kin,

Melyssa, milady, praise the healing of your love,
gentle tranquillity of heart as the dove,
personal tributes to others in the great above,
threaded into the quilts of our lives as silk woven into a lush glove,

infinite boundaries in the night,
bonds everlasting in your heart so tight,
fairy nymph with strength of will that towers an inner might,
to spellbind her audience with her unique and brilliant insight,

in the autumn twilight of discontent when darkness arrives too soon,
grand entrance into life unprepared; she is our universe,
Melyssa comes in grace to stir feelings of enamor under a pale moon,
Melyssa, the precious rare shooting star performing without rehearse,

spread the blanket of your smile that tastes of celestial ambrosia,
Melyssa... Melyssa...

"Mes memoires d'amour dans une valle d'espoir ..."
"Est sularas oth Mithas ..."

I take thee to be... ~ Epilogue

beloved brown eyes flash expectantly anew,
in the following days together next to you,
Melyssa, my love, the one and only woman to woo,
all that I am is for you to share,
a pledge to you to commemorate your adoring care,
the future is brighter tomorrow; of it we are aware...
