REMORSE IN POOLS OF BLOOD RAIN

Sky Pale ~ Prelude

awakened from sleep supreme,
by the cry of the sun on the eve of pale morning,
the light in its somber rays cast upon me the evocation of imagination,
silent specter rising as the sun to heights of clouds in the sky of dream.

She stared at me on the travelled road with dimples of rain,
a companion with a voice of silent prying into hearts anguished with disdain,
he remembers a time in her face of a prison without walls; drove him insane,
and so as her eyes across his face rake, he flirts in vain,

Yet he has been committed to his love by upholding the virtues of a saint,
his betrothed is a wanton beautiful lady,
it would be aghast to even consider deflowering virginity in gray taint,
I apologize for my lover, she is jealously greedy for my body,

Tingles of joy shiver down my shapely spine,
sweat trickles in the span of my mind,
if I wanted her, she could be all mine,
but my love means well for she repays her mistakes in kind,

Gorgeous tresses of brown locks sprout from a head born of sorrow,
her eyes radiate this warm feeling burning with an eerie inner glow,
hoping against hope I will see her again at sunrise tomorrow,
perhaps next time I will introduce myself, converse, and exit with a bow,

Soon I will be engaged in the holy vows of marriage and matrimony,
and I will look behind me at the sun to see that girl before the ceremony,
she will be a statue to represent unstable freedom lost in pain,
for the permanent love I will gain ...
