They didn't ask
I said nothing

They asked too much
I said even less

They tried again
I said the words through the tears

They asked the wrong question
I gave the right answers

But why do they feel so wrong?

"WHERE? WHY? HOW?"

I reach out to him and he turns me away,
He reaches out to me and I don't know what to say,

I plead with him to understand,
He pleads for an open hand,

I hope for a meeting of the minds,
He hopes for a tie that binds,

In the midst of life's disagreeable past,
I pray for a love that will last...

The subtle smell of semen
and his intoxicating scent
flutter through my subconscious.

I wake with a smile, disgruntled
by the fact that the mid-morning sun
has taken me from his arms.

I snuggle up to the
pillow next to me.
Hoping against hope
he will appear ready to
rekindle last night's poetry.

Alas I'm fated to wait until
we next can revel
in the poetry of
each other's bodies.

Guiding her to the peaks of ecstasy,
where she opens up her shadowy past of promiscuity.

Will he run? Will he defend?
When will this temporary love end?

Helping him to find a reality to rely on,
she loses her grip on him.

Will she run? Will she defend?
When will this temporary love end?

Helping each other live life to its fullest,
while the world sings songs of joy at young love.

Will they run? Will they defend?
When will this temporary love end?

Tempting each other with the seduction of each other's bodies,
playing an engaging game of cat and mouse.

Will they run? Will they defend?
When will this temporary love end?

He opens up to her the life he wishes to spend with her,
he forces her to grow up before her time.

Will she run? Will she defend?
When will this temporary love end?

She pleads for understanding of her juvenile stupidness,
he wishes for her to agree with his need for the white picket
fence.

Will either run? Will either defend?
That is when this temporary love will end.

A dagger with blade so sharp.
a lie.
Deadly poison that brings you to a tortured rest.
a lie.
Little pills guide us to an everlasting slumber.
a lie.
Lives torn in an undetermined moment.
a lie.
Trust taken from the innocent.
a lie.
Innocence taken from the trusting.
a life.
A bond of everlasting love.
two lives.
love.
hope.
worth everything.

"THE LIE"

The night I walked to him in the rain,
All alone, not a parent in sight,
Letting myself in, giggling with intimate anticipation,
So began Sweetheart's Last Dance.

The night we whispered each other's names,
All truth not a falsehood to be heard,
The word yes echoes in each other's ears,
So speeds up Sweetheart's Last Dance.

The night we came together in the gentleness of our bodies,
all love, not a selfish or uncaring act to be found,
his caring eyes never leaving mine as we became one,
so concludes Sweetheart's Last Dance.

The night I changed forever,
all innocence, not seen by those leading the dance,
our lives are still together forever as he holds me close,
so Sweetheart's Last Dance dies,
and she waits for the DJ to replace the tune.

The new yet the old
The anticipating and the reminiscing
The preparation in time with the concluding

As the waltz ends it's sweet melody
As we depart to begin our individual destinies
As the sun sets on tomorrow's past

We the hopes for tomorrow's tomorrow
begin anew
No stipulations,
No blueprints,
No hands to guide,
We with minds yearning and hesitant shall bring what will be
tomorrow's present
