ALL-COMMUNITY FORUM ON COMMUNITY AND POLICE RELATIONS IN OUR NEIGHBORHOODS

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 24th, 7 TO 10 PM

CURTIN AUDITORIUM, THE GALLERIES

  1. * What do you want us to know about what has happened to you, What has worked in getting along with police? What do you want from your allies (both neighbors & police) to make our neighborhoods safer? How can our community begin to take self-determined action and on these issues over the long term?

  2. * Neighborhood speak-outs: Southside - Aug. 29 (So. Presbyterian Church), Westside - Sept. 5 (Blodgett School Gym), Eastside - Sept. 19 (Boys & Girls Club), Northside - Sept. 26 (Hawley Youth Program), Downtown - Oct. 3 (Plymouth Church). All 7pm.

Convened by Syracuse/Onondaga County Human Rights Commission. The Task Force is composed of community representatives from the following: N.Y.S. Division for Human Rights, Human Rights Commission, Hiscock Legal Aid, Rainbow Coalition, Dept. of Sociology/S.U., A.C.L.U., Urban League, Gay-Lesbian Alliance, Lesbian and Gay Youth Program, Nat'l. Assoc. of Social Workers, Onon. Co. D.A.'s Witness Protection Program, Spanish Action League. Chair: Charles Anderson, Syracuse Common Councilor.
