Some of this work can be made easier by offering scholarships to people that either want to be a teacher or student or do some advertising exchange for money. The cost of the instructor registration or the student tuition or the ad cost can be reduced or done away with all together. GLU/Seattle offers people the opportunity to deliver or sit at the info table for a couple of hours for the price of the $10 tuition. Inserts When a not for profit group would like to put a insert into the GLU catalog it is good idea to have them help stuffing the inserts into the catalog. This is only fair if you do not charge them for the service. This really helps because the inserting is probably one of the biggest jobs. Non Profit status Getting and keeping a non profit status is nice to have when people are encouraged to donate their time. I don't think many people would be interested in providing time to a for profit place and not get paid for it. Extra income By saving costs and getting the enrollment up a GLU could farm some of the duties out. With the extra income a GLU that say hates doing the delivery could find someone in the community that would like to earn a few extra dollars each week to make sure the catalogs delivered. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Tom Hicks tomh@halcyon.com GLU - Gay Lesbian University/Seattle anonymous ftp halcyon.com /pub/GLU POB 20771 Seattle,WA 98102 206-323-7483 F I G H T B A C K W I T H T E C H N O L O G Y ----------------------------------------------------------------
