Last year, before dissolving, MIM took up support for two states of Palestine and I$rael. It's hard to see that there has been any progress in that. Although talk in Iraq is now turning to timetables for U.$. withdrawal, no one can say for sure what would happen in the event that the Arab or Islamic peoples conclude that Annapolis was a failure. There could be chain reactions throughout the Mideast.
Obviously, much stronger measures are necessary to fix the situation between I$rael and Palestine. At this time, ex-MIM people come under pressure not to rat out the imperialists if they fail, as it looks like they will.
There will be diplomatic efforts to prevent failure, but they may succeed in only producing stagnation. Naturally, ex-MIM people come under pressure to face every type of humiliation and legal charge; even though, in 25 years, the main leaders never faced any felony charges and no one ever formally told MIM that it was under felony investigation.
The position of the Bush administration is that it cannot force concessions on I$rael. If the cease-fire with Hamas in the Gaza Strip ends, and chain reactions start in the Mideast, or if other struggles escalate in support of Palestine, ex-MIMers will come under more pressure.
MIM's international readers should therefore judge for themselves and verify their information on their own and not count on U.$., Russian or EU intelligence. Ex-MIM did the best it could with its information, but it is possible that other imperialists would violate their own laws to dupe ex-MIM people. There is no doubt intensive psy-war aimed at ex-MIM people these past two years.
Various people will make various diplomatic efforts before the U.$. presidential conventions, which officially kick off silly season at its highest folly. We won't be surprised to see Obama find someone for vice-president who claims to have Osama Bin Laden's head in a jar. Then, McCain will have to one up Obama.
It will be the world's oppressed people that make the final decision on just how to respond to this season's propaganda against the oppressed. Especially active and relevant oppressors are the nytimes.com and foxnews.com. At the same time, like many spies, various politicians, agencies and others have been claiming to be our friends or at least appearing to be so. Yet there are almost no individuals with the courage or agreement to work with ex-MIM openly.
Some lessons that can always be relearned anew:
If the peace process breaks down and even the imperialist media admit that chaos is spreading in the Mideast, the imperialists will seek to scapegoat ex-MIM for past and present U.$. and I$raeli imperialist warmongering. The imperialists are currently admitting in a backhanded way that they have been involved in ruining ex-MIM lives for decades. The media is even saying at the moment that the CIA might be even bigger than it has ever admitted. How many spies is it really, 100,000 ? 200,000? When one is up to one's eyebrows in spies, it's a lot more likely one will face ridicule and psychological warfare on lifestyle issues. Those who cannot win an argument rely on ad hominem attack and misreading of the word "hypocrisy," which never applies to people who do not obtain public benefits.
Had U.$. imperialists taken strong measures to address the Mideast issues before, MIM lives would have been much better the past decade. Instead various spies have worked against MIM for decades, because there is no "equal protection under the law" as claimed. It's to the point where various spies are so familiar with oppressing MIM that they paraphrase MIM on this or that point while failing to take strong enough measures for the imperialist world to brings its wars to an end.
